Now that cruising has resumed I wanted to reflect on my very first cruise with Disney about seven years ago My first time on a cruise ship was the Disney magic out of Miami it was a 5 night to Mexico …I was nervous & excited. We got there went through security and checked in …we got our key to the world cards and the navigator (the navigator is the paper with everything for the day that is now all on the Disney cruise app) The key to the world card was a small card that opens your room, pays for stuff, is your ID for going off & on ship (so you don’t have to carry your passport) and to work your lights inside the room (however a trick is any card will do we used an old Disney world room key card to keep the a/c and lights on) once aboard you can swim, eat, explore, & wait for your room. We had a rotation each night shows at 6:30 and dinner at 8:30 every night was a different restaurant with different menu & theme. Our waiters came with us each night they were all amazing! The shows were pure magic I loved every show they are a Mickey must do. The adult only restaurants are amazing, but we stuck to the free stuff this trip. Our first stop was Mexico we took an excursion to see the myan ruins we had the best tour guid Alex who told us he was myan and has a tail 😆 we had a blast!! The next stop was castaway cay it was very nice an extension of the ship free food and plenty to do we had the glass bottom boat booked, but got canceled due to rough seas. We rented bikes & explored. We also relaxed in hammocks and ate just hung out being lazy! Our room was a veranda on the 8th floor it was perfect!! We had the best Mousekeeper who always cleaned & left us towel creations with out navigator each night it was all amazing!! The worst part of this trip was going home I miss the food the most 😆 now you guys know I like to rate the stuff I do with “Mickey must do” so this was and still is a Mickey must do!! I do wish they would stamp your passport I would love to get a Mickey cruise ship stamp lol they said we could go somewhere in Mexico to do the office stamp, but we had stuff booked our entire time off the ship! This was seven years ago since this I have gone on all four Disney cruise ships and this is still my favorite ship but I think I may change my mind when I go on the wish next year!!
